x402
x402 is an open payment protocol built on the HTTP 402 Payment Required status code. A server answers a request with 402 and its payment terms, the client pays, typically in a stablecoin such as USDC, and retries with proof of payment. It is designed for machine-to-machine and AI agent payments where card checkouts do not fit.
